Image Text Practicum is a 3-credit classroom and experiential course at Ithaca College, taught by Catherine Taylor and Nicholas Muellner. The Practicum offers students the opportunity to work at the intersection of writing and photography.
This two-week (June 29-July 11, 2015) course focuses on the history and contemporary practice of image and text-based work and on participation in the Image Text Ithaca workshop and symposium. These events bring together internationally recognized artists, writers, publishers, and editors for a week of collaboration and presentations culminating in the publication of a new book.
Week 1: Intensive classroom work with Professors Taylor and Muellner
Week 2: Internship at ITI Workshop and Symposium and collaborative creative production
Students in Image Text Practicum will complete an independent or collaborative text-image project as part of the course. The class aims to develop skills in writing, photography, collaborative publishing and event planning, and to provide an opportunity for students to work with a diverse set of international artists.
Applications for the Practicum are available at: http://www.ithaca.edu/textimage/practicum/
A limited number of 1-credit Internships for the ITI Workshop and Symposium are also available. Interested applicants should contact Nicholas Muellner (email@example.com) or Catherine Taylor (firstname.lastname@example.org) directly with a brief expression of interest.
